Terms & Conditions – CT Equine Osteopathy

These Terms & Conditions apply to services provided by CT Equine, including equine osteopathic assessment and treatment, fitness and rehabilitation plans, freelance riding, and combined osteopathy and training services.
By booking an appointment or purchasing a service, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. Equine Osteopathy
Equine osteopathy is a hands-on, whole-body approach that considers the horse's movement, joints, muscles, fascia and wider physical function.
Assessment and treatment are tailored to the individual horse and may include joint mobilisation, soft tissue, fascial and other appropriate osteopathic techniques.
Osteopathic treatment is intended to support mobility, comfort and functional movement. No particular outcome or improvement can be guaranteed, as every horse and situation is different.
Equine osteopathy does not replace veterinary diagnosis, investigation or treatment.
2. Veterinary Care & Consent
CT Equine Osteopathy works alongside veterinary surgeons and other appropriately qualified equine professionals where required.
The owner or person responsible for the horse must disclose any known or suspected:
injury, illness or veterinary diagnosis;
lameness or unexplained change in movement;
medication or ongoing veterinary treatment;
previous surgery or significant injury; and
other information that may reasonably affect the safety or suitability of treatment or exercise.
Where veterinary assessment, consent or referral is required, treatment will only proceed in accordance with applicable UK legislation and professional requirements.
If I consider that a horse requires veterinary assessment before treatment, I reserve the right to postpone or decline treatment and recommend that veterinary advice is sought.
In an emergency, owners should contact their veterinary surgeon directly.
3. Appointments
Appointment times are estimates and may vary according to the individual horse and how they respond.
Initial osteopathic consultations generally take approximately 1 hour 30 minutes, although additional or less time may be required.
The horse should, wherever reasonably possible, be available at the agreed appointment time, reasonably clean and dry, and in a safe and suitable environment for assessment and treatment.
A suitable area for movement assessment should also be available where required.
4. Prices
Current prices are displayed on the CT Equine website and/or confirmed at the time of booking.
Current services include:
Initial Osteopathic Consultation – from £70
Follow-Up Osteopathic Session – from £60
Tailored Fitness Plan – £45
Rehabilitation Plan – £65
Osteopathy + Tailored Plan – from £100
Osteopathic Care & Training – bespoke pricing
“Starting from” prices may vary where additional time, travel or other agreed requirements apply. Any additional charges will be communicated where reasonably possible before the service is provided.
Prices may change from time to time. Changes will not normally affect appointments already confirmed at an agreed price.
5. Travel Charges
CT Equine primarily provides services across Staffordshire and Cheshire, with appointments further afield available by arrangement.
Travel charges may apply depending on location and will be discussed when booking where applicable.
Where several horses are booked at the same location, travel costs may be shared or reduced where agreed.
6. Payment
Payment is due on day of or within 48 hours of the appointment , unless otherwise agreed in advance.
Accepted payment methods are Bank transfer or Cash.
Any invoice payment terms will be clearly stated on the relevant invoice.
7. Cancellations & Rescheduling
I understand that circumstances change and appointments sometimes need to be rearranged.
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least [24/48] hours' notice wherever possible.
Cancellations made with less than [24/48] hours' notice may incur a reasonable cancellation charge reflecting losses arising from the late cancellation, except where circumstances make this inappropriate.
Failure to attend an appointment without notice may result in a charge.
Where I need to cancel or rearrange an appointment due to illness, unsafe travelling conditions, an emergency or other circumstances outside my reasonable control, I will contact you as soon as reasonably possible and arrange an alternative appointment.
Nothing within these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
8. Online & Distance Bookings
Where a service is purchased or agreed online, by telephone or through another distance communication method, applicable UK consumer cancellation rights will be respected.
Where you specifically request that a service begins during a statutory cancellation period, you may be asked to provide your express agreement to the service beginning early. Your cancellation rights and any payment due for services already supplied will be handled in accordance with applicable consumer law.
9. Fitness Plans
Fitness plans are individually developed using information provided about the horse, including their current fitness, age, workload, discipline and intended goals.
Plans may include ridden work, hacking, groundwork, polework, conditioning exercises and appropriate periods of rest and recovery.
Owners are responsible for monitoring their horse throughout the programme and should stop the exercise and seek appropriate professional advice if the horse develops signs of pain, lameness, illness or significant deterioration.
Exercise plans should be progressed according to the individual horse rather than treated as a guarantee that the horse will reach a particular level of fitness within a particular timeframe.
10. Rehabilitation Plans
Rehabilitation plans relating to an injury or diagnosed condition are intended to work alongside veterinary diagnosis and guidance and do not replace veterinary treatment or advice.
Relevant veterinary recommendations and restrictions must be disclosed before a rehabilitation programme is created.
The programme may need to be altered as the horse progresses. If the horse develops new or worsening symptoms, lameness, pain or another health concern, exercise should be stopped where appropriate and the veterinary surgeon contacted.
CT Equine does not guarantee a particular recovery time or rehabilitation outcome.
11. Freelance Riding & Osteopathic Care + Training
Freelance riding may be provided independently or as part of an Osteopathic Care & Training programme.
Before riding services begin, the owner or person responsible for the horse must provide accurate information regarding the horse's:
training and ridden history;
known behavioural issues;
previous accidents or dangerous behaviour;
medical or injury history relevant to exercise;
current fitness and workload; and
any other information that could reasonably affect rider or horse safety.
Suitable, correctly fitted and safe tack and equipment must be provided unless otherwise agreed.
I reserve the right to refuse, stop or alter a ridden session where I reasonably consider that continuing would compromise the welfare of the horse or the safety of the horse, rider or others.
Where a horse displays unexpected behaviour, appears lame, uncomfortable or otherwise unsuitable to exercise, the session may be stopped.
12. Owner Responsibilities
The person booking the service confirms that they are the owner of the horse or have appropriate authority to arrange treatment, exercise or other services on the owner's behalf.
Owners are responsible for providing accurate and relevant information about the horse.
Please inform me of any significant changes to the horse's health, medication, veterinary care, behaviour or exercise status before subsequent appointments.
13. Safety & Horse Welfare
The welfare of the horse remains the priority during all services.
Treatment or exercise may be altered, postponed or stopped if the horse becomes distressed, uncomfortable or unsafe, or where continuing would not be appropriate.
Reasonable precautions will be taken when handling, treating and riding horses. However, horses are inherently unpredictable animals and it is not possible to eliminate all risk associated with handling and ridden work.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability that cannot legally be excluded under UK consumer law.
14. Treatment Responses & Aftercare
Horses may respond differently following osteopathic treatment.
Where appropriate, you may be given individual aftercare or exercise recommendations following the session.
Owners should monitor their horse and contact me if they have concerns following treatment. Where symptoms suggest veterinary investigation may be required, veterinary advice should be sought.
15. Other Equine Professionals
Where appropriate, I may recommend that the horse is assessed by another relevant professional, such as a veterinary surgeon, farrier, saddle fitter or other suitably qualified practitioner.
A multidisciplinary approach may be particularly appropriate for rehabilitation, persistent performance concerns or more complex cases.
Any sharing of personal information with another professional will be handled in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements.
16. Photographs, Videos & Case Studies
Photographs or videos may occasionally be useful for treatment records, movement assessment, monitoring progress or professional education.
Identifiable photographs, videos, testimonials or case information will not be used for public marketing or social media without appropriate permission.
Where marketing consent is requested, it will be separate from your agreement to treatment and you are free to decline.
Permission previously given for future marketing use may be withdrawn by contacting CT Equine, subject to any lawful limitations relating to material already published or otherwise processed.
17. Personal Information & Privacy
Personal information is processed in accordance with the CT Equine Privacy Policy and applicable UK data-protection legislation.
Information may include contact details, appointment information and relevant records required to provide services and maintain appropriate business records.

18. Research & Educational Content
Articles, social media posts, exercise information and other educational material published by CT Equine are provided for general information and education only.
They are not a substitute for individual veterinary diagnosis, treatment or professional assessment.
Research relating to equine osteopathy and manual therapy continues to develop. References to research should not be interpreted as a guarantee that a particular treatment will produce the same outcome for an individual horse.
19. Complaints
If you are unhappy with any aspect of the service you receive, please contact me in the first instance so that I have an opportunity to understand and address your concern.

20. Changes to These Terms
These Terms & Conditions may be updated periodically to reflect changes to services, prices, business practices or legal requirements.
The latest version will be available on the CT Equine website, with the date of the most recent update displayed at the top of the page.
21. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the applicable laws of England and Wales.
Nothing within these terms affects any statutory rights you have as a consumer.
